Mobile-free zones introduced in Stockholm’s buses, subway and trains

Social as well as health considerations have forced the new regulations.
As of August, Stockholm Transport (SL) has introduced so-called ‘mobile-free zones’ in all public transport in Stockholm. Need for privacy and some peace and quiet when travelling have been the winning arguments in the critique of too frequent and loud-speaking mobile fellow-commuters.

But the ‘mobile-free zones’ are not everywhere, just in the front seats of the buses and in the first and last cars of the subway and the trains. And it is of course still permitted to text, use the Internet, listen to music or receive voice mails everywhere. Nor will SL punish the ones breaking these rules; it is more of a matter of consideration to the fellow-passengers.
