Wallenius and Alfa Laval have developed PureBallast - the first product in the world to meet UN IMO’s requirements
Swedish Wallenius Water and Alfa Laval, have developed a chemical-free method of treating water.
The patented technology behind PureBallast - Wallenius AOT™ is efficient, economical and ecological and is used for treatment of ships’ ballast water as well as cleaning of tap water, pools and spas, green houses etc. It has been industrialized by Alfa Laval in cooperation with Wallenius Water.
The new technology helps to solve the complicated challenge of invasive species from ballast. Since the International Marine Organization (IMO) will require ships constructed in 2009 or later to meet ballast water treatment standards, the need for a solution is more pressing than ever.
