Karolinska Institutet devotes € 80 millon for development of biotech firms

Karolinska Instututet has accumulated € 80 million for the development of biotech firms. The institute has a long track record of commercialisation of medical discoveries and its innovation system is unique in the world.
The next phase of developing the innovation system is the construction of Karolinska Institutet Science Park. The new research park will offer premises with ultra-modern infrastructure and will be built next door to Karolinska Institutet and the Karolinska University Hospital in Solna, Stockholm. The new research park will be ready for use in the autumn 2009. The southern branch of Karolinska Institutet Science Park, site Flemingsberg, with focus on medical technology and professional services, will be inaugurated the 21 November 2007.
