Construction increasing

Stockholm is Scandinavia’s economic center, having the largest gross regional product and most multinational companies. One of the world’s largest ICT clusters, one of Europe’s largest life sciences clusters, and northern Europe’s financial center are located here.

Stockholm is also Scandinavia’s natural center with good transportation links, a highly developed telecom network, access to world-class academic institutions, and a skilled workforce.

Stockholm is Scandinavia’s trendsetting city with a rich offering of culture and entertainment and an attractive living environment. Stockholm’s appeal has led to a growing economy and population. According to statistics from Eurostat, Stockholm is one of the fastest growing metropolitan regions in the EU. This positive development is also expected to continue. It is estimated that by 2030, the Stockholm region will have about 4 million inhabitants. In order to meet this growth, approximately € 30 billion is being invested in strategic city development and infrastructure projects in the region. These projects cover everything from road, railway, harbor, and airport expansion to investments in work places, housing, and hotels.

These pages will explain more about all the exciting projects that are in progress in Stockholm – The Capital of Scandinavia.
